The joyful season of Advent, when we wait for the birth of Jesus Christ and his coming again in glory, is upon us again. We hope that you will have a happy and blessed time, however you spend it.
Please join us for any of our events during Advent and Christmas. Just to remind everyone, following the spread of Omicron variant, masks are now obligatory in places of worship (unless you are exempt):
Sunday 28th November - First Sunday in Advent led by a local arrangement
Sunday, 5th December - Second Sunday in Advent led by our minister Rev'd Claudia Lupi
Sunday, 12 December (10:30 am) - Advent 'Tins and Treats' Service led by Rev'd Geoffrey Farrar. We will be collecting Christmas food treats, such as a chocolates or a tin of biscuits and anything else with a long shelf life, to donate to the Roehampton Food Bank. Please bring contributions to this service.
Sunday, 19 December (4:30 pm) - our traditional Carols by Candlelight Service, led by Rev'd Claudia Lupi. Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend.
Christmas Day, Sunday 25th December (11am) - Family worship, led by Rev'd Claudia Lupi. Please note there was a misprint in the Churches Together in Barnes (CTiB) Christmas card and the service is at 11am and not 10.30am as printed)
Other festive events:
CTiB (Churches Together in Barnes) Carol singing at the Wetlands Centre - Come and join in, or simply listen to carol singing on Saturday 18th December. The event is taking place in the Courtyard in the Wetlands Centre and will be open to those visiting the centre at this time, but it will also be open free of charge for those who just want to listen to the carols.
Merry Christmas from all at Barnes Methodist Church! Whatever you are doing this year, we hope that you will know something of the joy of the most precious gift of all: the gift of Jesus Christ, God's own son.
